Audiohobel aka Don Genaro
Hinter Audiohobel aka Don Genaro steht der bei München lebende Musikproduzent und DJ Jörg Neupert. 2002 hat er bereits eine langjährige Musikerkarriere als Schlagzeuger hinter sich, als er sich dem Auflegen und Produzieren elektronischer Musik zuwendet. Beeinflusst auch durch die heimische Künstlerschar aus Köln und Berlin spannt sich der Bogen von minimaler Kost bis hin zu opulenteren Werken aus Techno und Electro/House.
Unter dem Alter Ego Audiohobel können wir in Kürze wuchtige Minimal Techno Tracks erwarten, während unter dem Synonym Don Genaro bereits mehrere Tracks released wurden. Der Style ist hier etwas erzählender, ausholender. In beiden Fällen ist die Basis Ableton Live mit diversen VST´s, garniert mit Feldaufnahmen und anderen externen Spezereien.

Being a musician for more than two decades was the fundament when Don Genaro entered the decks as a minimal electro oriented DJ and producer in 2002. Born in the Ruhr Area he was faced with music very early. Therefore he got education in several instruments but finally decided for drums which always had impressed him most. A journey through different styles of pop music began, starting with rock, continued with funk and fun punk, and consequentially leading to serious jazz activities for many years. That was the way Don Genaro developed his ability of hearing, the sense for rhythms, and most notably the understanding of forms (and how to destruct those in an adequate way). Form follows function… and there is no misunderstanding about Don Genaros concept of function. The function his repetetive electronic music is to go out beyond one´s mind. It is to make the crowd on the floor scream. It is to make the people wet….
Starting with some smaller DJ performances Don Genaro grew and is now taking off. In every free minute you will find him in his sound kitchen brewing the ultimative brain melting mixture, there are various releases expected the next weeks and months. In his DJ mixes you can feel the tremendous hypnotizing power that can only be provided by this genre: the worldwide success of minimal electronic music is showing how much it activates something that is in danger to get lost- the dialogue with where we all come from, with the ground we tend to forget we all stand on.
